[Fiction] The Cable Cats

3D fan art for Juice Hobbes, one of the main characters of The Cable Cats.

I wrote The Cable Cats about 10 years ago and shared it with kids in my community, some of whom loved the characters so much that they made fan art. That was pretty much the apex of success to me, so I thereafter let the story float in the cloud while I focused on other projects. But the story has been itching at me recently, so I finally cleaned it up and put it into a downloadable format, and I'm happy to be sharing it with you now.

The Cable Cats is a middle-grade story perfect for the eight to 12-year-olds in your life who enjoy adventure stories and animals. Here's the description:

The Cable Cats is the story of Juniper and Bastet Hobbes, sister and brother cats despised and chased off their home planet of alpha felines, and Ursula Hobbes, the grieving former First Kid of San Francisco, now a prisoner in her own home. Brought together by deeper forces than they initially realize, the trio stumbles through a last-ditch effort to rescue San Francisco from the fangs of Füry Byte, the cunning leader of the planet WagnarökBut the Hobbes find that fur-ripping claws, flaming poo bombs, and deadly purrs and barks are nothing compared to the clash of their own conflicting ideas about who they really are and who they can trust.

This is an adventure story with spying, terrible battles, humor, and a lot of heart (and cats being cats). You can download the full 127-page story here for free. I hope you and your children have a blast!
